The publication of My First Summer in the Sierra inspired thousands to journey there, and this newly illustrated anniversary edition will surely inspire thousands more. The book also contains five photographs taken by Miller of John Muir's hand-written journal pages, including several Muir illustrations that have never been published before. Twenty-one illustrations by John Muir that were in the original edition are also included in the book.
